Blood Donor Day 2008 at the Zoo 1

Date: Sunday, 14 June 2008
Time: 9 am - 5 pm
Venue: Singapore Zoological Garden

Hubby and I received an invitation card each with free entry to the Zoo for 2, to celebrate the World Blood Donor Day 2008. So we asked my mother and sister to join us.

We stayed over at mum's place the night before. After suboh prayer, I warmed up the samosas that I prepared the day before, drank milo and left. We took bus 135 to Ang Mo Kio Interchange, to change bus 138 that stopped at the Zoo.

It was very crowded at the entrance of the zoo: photo-taking with the Blood Buddy mascots and a lot visitors queued up for the tickets. We too, took picture with the Blood Buddy :D

We had breakfast first at KFC before entry. Rosman changed our invitation cards for 4 entry passes with 2 red donor scarves and 2 Donors cards.

Finally stepped into the animal's world!! We used to visit the zoo every year since I was young, it's a family tradition, had stopped after the Sars outbreak... now we are going to continue the tradition! :D

Passion Run 2008 - 10 km

Date: Sunday, 8 June 2008
Time: 6.30 am
Venue: East Coast Park - E2 Angsana Green

Hubby took part in the Passion Run on Sunday morning. The venue is at the East Coast Park (East Coast jogging route by the beach) near to the food centre and lagoon (360 degree ski). Only a few bus stop away from our home. There were 3 routes - the 15 km (competitive), 10 km and 5 km. He signed up for the 5 km but he was running the 10 km route.

He was quite excited that when he finished the run, the organiser gave out a medal for completion. As he signed up the 5 km run, he received his medal although he ran 10 km. It is an encouragement for him as he has yet gotten a medal with the other runs. I joined him after his run to take pictures.

When we were leaving, we walked along the beach, and saw sand castle building competion for family. I took some pictures and lost my hubby... guess where did I find him...(check the pix below) LOL.

National Runway Cycling & Skating 08

Date: Sunday, 25 May 2008
Time: 8.00am (gate opens by 7am)
Venue: Paya Lebar Air Base

I was 18th weeks pregnant and joining the Runway Cycling again with hubby.
Everyone were shocked when I told them I went: "Hah? You cycle at this state (2nd trimester pregnancy)?"
I cycled at leisure, I was not speeding and I could balance the biscycle, so no problem.

• Pix 1: After praying suboh, we left the house around 6.30 am. Took a bus to Eunos MRT station to catch the shuttle bus to the Air Base.

• Pix 2 & 3: We were queuing to pass the security check point before entering the Air Base. As we were early, we queued around 10 mins.

• Pix 4: The overall map of the Event, where the tenants of various sport products were situated.

• Pix 5: We signed up with rental of 2 biscycles, collected that day.

Runway Cycling & Skating 08 cont

• Pix 6: We cycled to the starting point at the runway... wow! The Leisure Route (15 km) already filled up with cyclists at the left lane. We joined the Family Route (6 km), so empty... still early lah, it's only 7.51 am!

• Pix 7: Took pic of hubby at the starting point. The balloon seems different from last year, added the skater graphic as this year included Inline skating for Family Route.

• Pix 8: Met South East Jogger Wing Kee skating at the Runway. Take picture, take picture!! Have you spotted "the slider" don't know what you called it, at the right corner? Wing Kee had asked the person to be our photographer, he was taking this picture! I had not seen that in Singapore! The speed seems fast by swaying left and right!

• Pix 9: See! I am flying!!! (shh... it's the track marks of the fighter planes on the floor that gives the illusion...heehee!)

• Pix 10: After completing the route, there were demostration of Inline skatings and Biscycle Stunts... and some performance.

Andai Ku Tahu by Ungu ("If only I know" w translation)

Whenever I hear this song before Adzan (Call to prayer) from radio, I like it and at the same time feeling sad, even w/o knowing the meaning since it's in Malay language. Then one day, I mentioned the song to hubby, he said it's a nice song of repentence. Then we made a search in Google & YouTube. Found it, and tried translating the lyric ourselves. The lyric is so beautiful!

Andai Ku Tahu by Ungu (translation)
If only I know the arrival of my death
I will beg
Oh God please prolong my age

If only I know the arrival of my time
I will beg
Oh God don't You take my life

I am afraid of all my sins
I am afraid sins that's continuously shadowing me

If only I know
Your Angel (of Death) will invite me

Allow me
To declare words of repentance to You

I am afraid of all my sins
I am afraid sins that's continuously shadowing me

Forgive me for all my sins
Forgive me, I cry repenting to You

I am a man (human being) who's afraid of Hell
However I'm also not qualified to be in Your Heaven

If only I know the arrival of my death
Allow me to declare words of repentance to You

I am afraid of all my sins
I am afraid sins that's continuously shadowing me

Forgive me from all my sins
Forgive me, I cry repenting to You
