Song > Give My Love

I found this Sound Track while seaching in YouTube on Korean TV series "Goong" OST Music Video.
Love the music, and because of this song, I went to YouTube to watch the Korean TV series "Save the last dance for me" :P
It's not usual for me to listen to songs but I can't help it with these 3 (I am trying not to get too obsessed):

1. Give My Love by Edward Chun [ Save the last dance for me OST in English ]

2. Dang Shi Eun Nanun Babo Ibnida by Stay [ Goong OST in Korean]

3. Perhaps Love by Howl & J [ Goong Original Sound Track n Korean ]

Give My Love (English Version) - Edward Chun (Save The
Last Dance For Me OST.)

Lyric
When I look in your eyes I can see that you
Want to be with me but you’re so scared
And I don’t know what to say or do
But the tears keep falling from your eyes
And I know that Times won’t change my love
And I can’t do nothing to keep you

*Oh, I’ll give my love oh when I hold you tight
Give my love through kisses oh so bright
And you know that I can’t change my love
Take my love all through the night…

As the hours pass away
You think that love ain’t here to stay
Feel a beat from your chest
But you don’t give doubt a moment’s rest
You dream the future and all you see is dark
Listen to your heart, baby,
The truth will set sparks

Now I’ll give my love oh when I hold you tight
Give my love through kisses oh so bright
And you know, that I can’t change my love
Take my love all through the night…

Now I’ll give my love oh when I hold you tight
Give my love through kisses oh so bright
And you know that time won’t change my love
Take my love all through the night…

I’ll give my love oh when I hold you tight
Give my love through kisses oh so bright
And you know, that I can’t change my love
Take my love all through the night…

My speech: The Steps in Learning Quran is Easy

This was my motivational speech during the Al Jauhar Youth Camp 2005. I was given 30 minutes for the talk after maghrib prayer and stopped before ishak. My speech was prepared in point forms so I am not reading my speech but expressing my feelings to the participants. Please mind my gramma on present & past tense. I was glad when the 2 youngest paricipants came to me saying they enjoyed my recitation and talk, alhamdulillah. I felt like kissing them.

Recitation of the Quran, Surah Yasin (chapter 36: v1 - v24) (10 mins, include translation in English)

1) Self-introduction
• Name – Aisya Chen Lee Choo
• Marital Status – Married to Bro Rosman in year 2001
• Highest Educational Level – Diploma in Graphic Design
• Occupation – Freelance Graphic Designer with Advertising Agencies.
• Manage to recite the Quran within 2 to 3 years.

2) Started learning Islam in:
• When? Oct 1998,
• Where? 1–day Orientation & 12–week BCI (Beginners Course in Islam) at Darul Aqam

3) Things I believed in before learning about Islam.
• Open minded to various religions as long as it teaches good.
• No idea if there is God... and definitely God is not from a human being
• Love the wonders of what “Mother Nature” can do. Nature is so beautiful. You feel peaceful when you are in nature with the birds singing and insects humming from a distant... creatures like squirrels, dogs... and insects playing around you. You just feel wonderful and happy.
• Miracles do happen when your will–power is strong.
• Science explorations and developments are what would help mankind to advance.
• Universe, we are not alone, if we exist, there might be other beings.
• Knowledge is what helps you to advance and out of poverty.

4) How I was convinced? Thru learning the
• 6 Articles of Faith – Belief in Allah as the Absolute & Creator of all things, Belief in His angels, His Books, His Prophets, Day of Judgement and lastly Qada’ & Qadar (the power of doing actions good and bad comes from Allah)

– The message about creations and Allah is in controls of the whole univers, the stars, moon, sun, galaxies, things that are out of this world, this earth! Or not so far, here in our body, what is inside us, we cannot control, you can’t ask your body when to fall sick and when to get well.

– Remember the few things I said earlier about what I believed before learning Islam, it fits well with the message of what Islam brings – Allah is the One and Only, no son, no father, no mother, no brother, no wife, no sister, no daughter, and so, definitely not a human being. The "Mother Nature" is Allah, better then an Artist who paint on surface, copying the nature onto paper; everything exist are put into balance.

Miracles happen only by the will of Allah, so Muslim would say "Inshaallah" and when somthing good happens to us we say "Alhamdulillaah", and this falls into the catergory of Qada and Qadar. Not to say SCIENCE, the UNIVERSE, and KNOWLEDGE all comes from Allah, who is the Most Great, the Most Merciful and the Most Gracious. All the messages are in the Quran plus... the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad.

• By accepting that Allah is the Greatest,
Following the 5 Principals of Islam needs to be observed –
Declaration of Faith (Shahadah) – Say LaailaaHaillallah wa anna Muhammadur rasullullah... Say I witness Allah is the One and Only and Muhammad is His messenger.
A Muslim must believe in the above faith completely meaning “Your heart believes, your lips confess and your entire body acts towards obedience to Allah.” So you perform 5 daily Prayers, Fasting, Zakat & lastly Hajj if you are able to afford the journey.

5) Now the Qustion is : What to study after BCI (Beginners Class of Islam)?
• After checking with Ustaz Ahmad Jelani, I joined Taisir in its 2nd week.

• Taisir:
28 letters in Arabic. Learn 7 letters in a week, by mastering 1 letter per day. I joined the class in its 2nd week, still alright to learn 14 letters + writings. I wrote out the 1st 14 letters and pasted on the wall.
– Every week after learning from the class, to make learning interesting, I started to write the letters in joined form and pronounce them, from joining 2 letters, increase to 3 then 4. So in a short time, I am able to write fluently. Later to make it more challenging, I began writing the chapters from the Quran on recycled paper so you don’t need to have wudu to carry it around... And even writing the chapters using inked brush, which is very difficult and ugly... show sample.
– Choose a Quran that the writings you are comfortable with and stick to that.
Ok back to the learning part...

• Tajweed:
Learning the rules on recitations. Master the rules bit by bit, and to
sit in any new tajweed classes to recap the rules and application.

• Talaqqi
– Reciting the Quran after the ustaz, sentence by sentence.
– Or recite together with the ustaz.
– Keep repeating the same chapter. The first surah of Talaqqi was Yasin verse 1 to 12. I was crawling way behind then. People reading at page 2, I am still at page 1. My girlfriend would always point at my Quran the verse that they are reciting.

• Arabic Language
– After I am able to write and recognise the Arabic writings, learning the language will be the next stage.

6) Why do I want to learn about the Quran & Sunnah?
• Besides the hadith said by the Prophet, “I left behind 2 things, follow it closely and you’ll never go astray,”
• If you like to read the Encycopedia, which I did... You will find that the Quran has MORE. There are the Scientific facts which only recently being discovered by scientists, Astronomy on Creation of the Universe, and talks about the 7 heavens... The Healing doas to recite when or before you get sick. eg Al-Fatihah, Yasin, Al–Hashr.
• A lot stories that happen in the past and stories of the prophet.
• And also there is a tree in heaven (Jannah) so huge that if you were to travel under its shadow, it’ll take years.
• The Quran also talks about a river in Jannah (Al-Kauthar), and all these are real, and you can’t find them in the Encycopedia.

• The revelation of the Quran to our beloved prophet Muhammad takes 23 yrs... so I give myself a time frame say: 23 yrs, if I can live longer, that's my bonus to learn about Islam, and to understand what the Quran says... To understand the words of Allah (Quran) you need to know the language.

• I take it slow, I believe that if you keep repeating a certain skill over & over again, you are sure be able to master it, eg, a computer game or a sport, so is learning the Quran... and I am able to read in less than 2 yrs... so it’s not difficult to learn to read and eventually understand the Quran.

Thank you.

Any Question?

Wassalam.

must perform it." A man asked: "Every year, O Prophet of Allah?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) remained silent. When the man repeated it thrice, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Had I said 'yes', it would have become a yearly obligation, and this would have been beyond your power." Then he added: "Leave me alone so long as I leave you alone (i.e., do not pester me with questions about things which I omit and do not mention). Some people who lived before you were destroyed because they asked too many questions and disagreed with their Prophets. So when I command you to do something, you must obey and do it to the best of your power, and if I forbid you from something, then avoid it." (Bukhari and Muslim)

Lessons to learn as a Convert in Islam.

Yesterday, MUIS and AMTAS have organised a briefing for all pilgrims who are performing hajj this year.

Alhamdulillah, I am being invited by Allah to His Holy Land and perform my 5th Pillar this coming hajj season. InshaAllah, I can perform a full hajj in the name of Allah, fully submitted to Him.

Yesterday briefing was spoken in Malay (as usual). Don't understand anything said by the speakers. Only the powerpoint slide has some English text... oh yes.. I was copying like crazy... but still missed out some points... (be patience... practice tolerance...)

I am putting my notes in the next blog, so other non-Malay speaking muslim or those who are absent are able to benefit from this.

My hubby who used to be my translator was unable to attend the briefing (I used to pour all my unhappiness to him during all this Malay speaking event, may Allah reward him for his tolerance, ameen). I called up earlier to MUIS - Haj department, the lady assured me that the "Multi-media" was in English. The event due to majority were Malays, so all speakers spoke in Malay language, while non-Malay audience were advised to read the slide with English text. The 1st & 2nd speakers whom have mentioned anything on "Jeddah Airport", I had no idea of what the pilgrims were "supposed to know"... since I do not know.

In the past, in such incidents, I would be so timid and felt left out and cried a lot, each time I was told beforehand that the event/talk/course was supposed to be conducted in English, but changed the language as "majority" attending were Malays. I felt so unjust to any non-Malay speaking convert who is eager to learn. They never realised that they are pushing the converts away.

I don't want to be defeated by language barrier to stop me from learning, so I doa a lot. I supplicate to Allah for guidance, He is the provider of all creation, I turn to Him for knowledge of Islam and Qur'an. He answered and still feeding me with knowledge of different fields... I am so blessed. Subhaanallaah walhamdulillaah wa laa ilahaillallaah.

The tip is to be tolerance and be patience. Allah repeated many times in the Quran to turn to Him during hardship and despair, and be patience. "Hurry to Prayer. Hurry to Prayer. Hurry to success. Hurry to success" is called out in every prayer's time. Pray and turn to Allah, you'll be successful.

"Verily, along with every hardship is relief. Verily, along with every hardship is relief." (i.e there is one hardship with two reliefs, so one hardship cannnot overcome two reliefs.) [Quran chapter, Surah As-Sharh (The opening Forth/Hope) 94 : 5 - 6]

This 2 verses are my greatest comfort at all time. Ask Allah, He will provide. In just matters of time.

My counting blessings are attending classes by Ust Ahmad Jelani's Taisir / Tajweed / Talaqqi (Quran reading), Islamic studies (Tauhid/Fiqh / Hadith. A few lessons on Taranum with ust Muhammad (quilty can't complete it due to tight time management with other classes).

Bro Aidit Gazali's Insan Rabbani (+ Advance) Islamised Qigong and breathing exercises / Parenthood / Dawah / Family Planning; and Ustadz Fidaus's Quran and Science / Astronomy in Al Quran / Kiblat calculation / Prayer time Calculation / Islamic & Civil Calender calculation.

Ust Bani's Sirah and usrah session (discussion of Islamic topics) (1999)

Ust Mustafa's Arabic language. Ust Yusoff's Arabic language. Sis Faezah's Arabic for beginners.

Ust Zul's Orientation for Muslim Educator (2006). Ust Isa's Jenazah course (1999).

Ust Haron's Haj course (Masjid al Iman, every Sun 8:30am) / Hadith (msj Al Khair, every Sun 10:30am) / Short Talk on Hadith (msj Jamek Chulia, every Mon after Zohor)

There are people asking me, how come I am able to attend so many classes (in just 8 yrs now). I merely answered "I ask Allah." They looked surprised. They couldn't imagine, to gain the knowledge I have, I had to go through a big struggle, only Allah knows, my hubby knows and my dearest sister and mummy cares. They are my support to continue my journey to seek knowledge in Islam.

I do not want to miss out any English classes in Islam, since it's already so few in Singapore. Alhamdulillaah, Allah would lead me to places to attend classes... whether it's in Bukit Panjang (Msj Al- Iman) or Choa Chu Kang (Msj Al- Khair) which are 1 hour journey from where I stay.
